When it comes to eating with Gastroparesis and CIP there are a few kitchen gadgets that you will find indespensable...

-Food Mill- this handy dandy little thingy-ma-bob was what was used before the advent of the food processer and they do still exist (Target online carries one for about $23 USD). Perfect for steamed veggies and fruits, it not only 'grinds' them down but tends to remove long string fiber.

-Ricer- for when you are doing small ammounts, a food ricer is the one handed tool for you. Want to 'process' just a few steamed baby carrots? This is the tool for you! (Target has a Potato Ricer for $15 USD which can be used for just about any small ammount of steamed veggie)

-Fine Mesh Strainer- You are going to want these in many sizes from small (fits over most glasses) to large enough to place over a pot or bowl. Perfect for getting all pulp from any juices, sifting flour and best of all, doing a second straining on store bought apple sauce to make sure that all fiber strands and large 'chunks' are out.

-Food Grade Cheese Cloth- when making home made boths, tie all the ingredients in a cheesecloth 'sack' for easy removal and disposal. One sure way that nothing sneaks into the broth!

-Natural undyed, unbleached coffee filters- use these to get every last bit of pulp or fiber out of juices, simply set the filter in a small strainer and slowly pour the juice through.

-Liquid Fat Gravy Seperator- a handy dandy little tool that you simply fill with yout home made broth, wait a moment then pour the broth out. The fat rises to the top and since the spout is connected to the bottom the fat is the last thing left!
